Are there plans to increase cycle spaces on your Desiro trains?
Our cycle policy explains that cycle space on trains is limited and at peak times they may not be conveyed in suburban areas. Meeting the needs of the majority of our passengers and the needs of cyclists, is a delicate balance, and it is unlikely we can satisfy everyone given the competing requirements for space. The designs of our new trains must therefore maximise as much space as possible for seating and standing areas while still providing space for a limited number of cycles. We also must comply with the legislation which requires extra wider seating for disabled passengers and the provision of disabled toilets along with wider doors and gangways, which also restricts on train space.
