Are there any plans for fast train connections between London, Weymouth, Bournemouth and Southampton for the Olympics in 2012?
It is still too early to give any clear indication of the service we will be able to provide for the Olympics in 2012. However, we will have to take into consideration our peak-hour commitments and the limited track capacity in this area. As soon as we know the precise dates and times for the various events, we will make plans for the increased number of passengers likely to be travelling between Weymouth, where the sailing events take place, and London Waterloo. With our experience of providing transport for large events, including sporting fixtures, such as the tennis at Wimbledon and rugby at Twickenham, we are confident that we will be able to meet the increased passenger demand.
