Can I pay by credit card at a ticket office and will you be installing credit card payment machines on your trains?
All our ticket offices now have the 'Chip & Pin' facility and we are in the process of rolling out new ticket machines that will accept payment by credit and debit card to all our stations. The idea of installing ticket machines on trains has merit, but it would introduce a significant security and vandalism risk as well as taking up valuable space that is used for seating. In addition to this we believe that our ticket offices at stations provide an important contribution to good customer service and unlike ticket machines on trains, our ticket office staff, are able to help customers who are not travelling immediately and who want to purchase tickets in advance.
