The range of Season Tickets available is agreed across the National Rail Network as a whole and South West Trains does not have the power to vary these products. The seven-day Season Ticket provides a discount compared to the cost of five consecutive daily tickets. However, the greater levels of discount are secured by those who purchase longer-term Season Tickets such as monthly, quarterly or annual tickets.
We have looked at a type of ‘Carnet’ ticket arrangement, as we know that this facility has been successful on the London Underground Network. However, we cannot consider implementing a ticket of this kind until a more satisfactory system of policing the scheme is developed, probably through increased ticket barriers.
