Depot driving is a vital job, largely unsupervised, that keeps the wheels of the depot turning. It's a physically demanding role that involves constantly climbing in and out of cabs to shunt trains around the sidings, and in and out of workshops for maintenance, cleaning, modifications, and service presentation.
Depot Drivers also carry out duties such as operating points and setting routes.
Depot Drivers work a 24/7 shift pattern.
