From the moment our customers set foot in the station, we strive to offer them the best service they have ever had. Station Assistants play an important role in achieving this by ensuring a secure and attractive station environment. They assist with the safe and punctual running of trains and offer advice and assistance to customers, frequently working under pressure and resolving difficult situations whilst all the time remaining customer focused.

Shift patterns can begin as early as 05:00 and finish after 23:00. Certain locations also involve night shifts.
South West Trains is committed to encouraging flexible working practices and we welcome applications from candidates seeking part-time or reduced hours. Our aim is to structure work schedules to the individual’s requirements. We are particularly interested in candidates who can cover our business’ peak times i.e. early mornings (approximately 06:00 to 10:00) or late afternoons/evenings (approximately 15:00 to 21:00).
Due to some shifts starting before the train service certain posts may require access to personal transport.
