Applicant Requirements

We are committed to valuing diversity, however legislation dictates that all non EU nationals are required to be in possession of a valid work permit before they can take up employment.

Visa Requirements

To be considered for a role within South West Trains all working visa holders must have a certain amount of time remaining on their visa.  This is due to the cost and length of time in training required to become competent.  The specific requirements are listed below:

For Customer Service and Administration positions a minimum of 15 months remaining at the point of application is required or 12 months on commencement of employment. For skilled positions such as Depot Driver, Guard, Management roles and Engineering positions a minimum of 2 years or 21 months respectively is required.
