We have made several improvements to our rolling stock to ensure that our fleet is in tip-top condition when you travel with us. These include:
- Refurbishing our West of England line Class 158 and 159 diesel trains that serve routes from London Waterloo to Exeter and Plymouth, Waterloo to Bristol and Salisbury to Chandler’s Ford. There is new seating, lighting and carpets, an on-board passenger information system, CCTV and upgraded toilet facilities. Work
is due for completion in July.
- Modifying 28 First Class areas on our blue Class 450 trains, which serve our inner suburban routes, to increase capacity. We have removed seats and doors and replaced them with Standard Class seats. Some of the modified units are now in passenger service.
- Cleaning the seats and stripping the floors on our red Class 455 trains following a recent £67 million refurbishment of our suburban fleet.
- Refurbishing the First Class areas with new seats, tables and carpets and power points for laptops and reorganising the layout of the disabled toilets on our Class 458 trains, which operate on London Waterloo to Reading, Ascot and Guildford lines. CCTV and doorway lighting has also been installed throughout the units.
