We are the winner of winners!

To celebrate a decade of Rail Business Awards,we received a special award for winning the highest number of awards out of all competing transport organisations.

At the HSBC Rail Business awards ceremony, held at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London on 27 February, BBC News 24 presenter Nicholas Owen presented the surprise award in recognition of the six awards we have scooped over the last 10 years.  This fantastic array of awards also includes Rail Business of the Year 2005.

To collect the award the company sent two people who have contributed to the changes which have been made over the last 10 years, Mac Mackintosh, Engineering Director and Jane Lee Head of Media and Public Affairs.

This award is a reminder of how we have transformed over the last 10 years, having made a host of improvements to improve our passenger experience, such as improving performance figures, better communication with passengers and a commitment to safety and security of our staff and passengers.

But it didn’t stop there, as we went on to collect a highly commended certificate for Rolling Stock Excellence of the Year for the refurbishment of the class 159/1 diesel trains carried out in partnership with Wabtec and Porterbrook. They were highly commended again, jointly with Network Rail, in the Railnews Internal Communications Excellence of the Year category for the ‘Right Time Railway Internal Communications’ – a campaign to reinforce the message every second counts when it comes to trains departing on time.

our Managing Director Stewart Palmer said:
“I am delighted and proud to have this award but lets not forget we would not have it if it weren’t for the hard work and passion of everyone, past and present, who has played their part in helping South West Trains progress. It is also fantastic recognition by our peers of how far we have come and I am very proud of all our employees.”
