Conditions for each ticket type
Ticket Type	Conditions
Single †	For one single journey between any two stations.
Day Return †	For one return journey between any two stations.
Open Return †	Valid for one calendar month from the date shown on the ticket for one return journey. Only available on selected longer distance routes.

† First Class tickets are available on selected routes.

Off-peak tickets

These tickets are priced lower than those above, but are only available for travel on off-peak services on your chosen date(s) of travel.

Conditions for each off-peak ticket type
Ticket Type	Conditions
Cheap Day Return	Return travel must be made on the same day. Outward travel only at off-peak times which vary depending on your journey. London Cheap Day Return maybe used on trains leaving at 9:30am or after; or in the case of stations further away from London, on trains arriving at 10am or after. This ticket is valid in off-peak travel periods. Ask for this ticket at any of our stations or book online.
Super Off-peak Day Return	Return travel must be made on the same day. For journeys towards London only. Outward journey only available on trains leaving after 11am; or in the case of stations further away from London, on trains arriving in London after 12 noon. Ask for this ticket at any of our stations or book online.
Saver Return	Return travel must be made within one calendar month of outward journey. Available on selected journeys over 35 miles. Time restrictions apply to outward and return travel. These tickets are only available from 0930 Monday to Friday. No restrictions at weekends or public holidays. Book online or for further details please ask when buying your ticket or contact our Customer Service Centre.
Saver First	Return travel must be made within one calendar month of outward journey. Available on selected longer distance journeys. Additional time restrictions apply to outward and return travel. Only available for travel on trains arriving at London Waterloo 1100 or after Monday to Friday. Restrictions on trains in the evening peak from London Waterloo on Mondays to Fridays, no restrictions at weekends or public holidays. GroupSave	3 or 4 adults travel for the price of 2. What’s more, up to 4 children aged 5-15 can accompany the GroupSave party for just £1 each. This offer is available with Cheap Day Return, Super Off-peak tickets, Saver Return tickets, Network AwayBreaks and Day Travelcards (Off-peak and Super Off-peak Day Travelcards from stations outside the London Fare Zones 1-6). This ticket is valid in off-peak travel periods. Ask for GroupSave when you book at any of our staffed stations.
