From the 6-15 April 2007 inclusive – which includes the Easter period – Network Rail will be undertaking major engineering work in the Basingstoke area.
This £130 million project will completely overhaul the signalling infrastructure and will result in a better, more reliable train service.
Car Parking
During this work some station car parks will be restricted or closed completely to accommodate the replacement bus services. Other car parks will be busier than normal.

Good Friday 6 April - Sunday 15 April 2007
During the 10 day blockade of Basingstoke, extensive diversions and rail replacement buses will operate in the surrounding area.
Buses will replace trains all day, every day on the following services:
- All routes to and from Basingstoke
- Andover to Winchfield (10 – 13 April), Andover to Farnborough/Woking (6 – 9 April and 14 & 15 April)
- Winchester/Micheldever to Winchfield (10 – 13 April), Winchester/Micheldever to Farnborough/Woking (6 – 9 April and 14 & 15 April)
- Winchester to Reading
This will also affect the journey times and frequencies at stations over a wider area. Stations where train services will be significantly changed are shown on this map.
Weekday train summary: Tuesday 10 April to Friday 13 April
Exeter - Yeovil - Salisbury to London Waterloo line.
Services will either terminate at Andover or Overton with a bus service operating to Winchfield. There will be a connecting train from Winchfield to London Waterloo. Delays of between 45 and 60 minutes are expected.

Weymouth - Bournemouth - Southampton to London Waterloo line.
Services from Southampton will be diverted via and stop additionally at Fareham, Havant, Guildford and Clapham Junction. Some peak hour trains will not stop at Clapham Junction. Delays of between 40 and 60 minutes are expected.

Hedge End/Southampton Airport (Parkway) - Eastleigh - Winchester line.
Services will terminate at Micheldever with a bus service operating to Winchfield. There will be a connecting train from Winchfield to London Waterloo. Delays of between 50 and 70 minutes are expected.
