South West Trains has a robust governance process in place to ensure that the long-term business objectives identified in its business plan are delivered. The creation of a CSR working group led by the Managing Director will provide a clear CSR governance structure which will fit easily with our existing business values and objectives. Along with the MD this CSR working group will contain senior representatives from the functions whose strategies form an implicit part of achieving our CSR objective such as safety, human resources, communications, customer service and operations.

As a train operator the service we deliver is specified by the Department for Transport, while the infrastructure we operate on is the responsibility of our colleagues at Network Rail. This structure means that we are not sole masters of our own destiny, but we will do everything within our power to ensure our partners work with us in achieving our CSR objectives.
