South West Trains receives Business Excellence Award
· Prestigious award received from British Quality Foundation
· Third exceptional Four-Star rating for train company
South West Trains today (Tuesday 16th November) announced that it has received a prestigious business excellence award.
The train company – part of Stagecoach Group – has been recognised by the British Quality Foundation branch of the European Foundation for Quality Management (EFQM).
South West Trains was awarded the "Recognised for Excellence" Four-Star Award. It is the third time since 2006 that South West Trains has achieved the award after demonstrating a high level of management, strategic planning and leadership across the business.
The EFQM process helps organisations assess and improve their performance. In receiving the Four-Star award, South West Trains has demonstrated that it has delivered excellent and sustainable results across all areas of the Excellence Model.
A team of assessors visited South West Trains in October, conducting a range of interviews and studying the company's work processes. They also hosted focus groups, conducted interviews, assessed written procedures, field visits to locations including Waterloo and Wimbledon and paid informal visits to South West Trains' front line staff.
Jake Kelly, South West Trains’ Commercial Director, said: "Being awarded a four-star rating again is a real achievement. It reflects the commitment of our people to achieving the highest level of business excellence and delivering good service to our customers.”
The EFQM areas assessment looks at areas such as strategic planning, leadership, people, and customers.
