Brading Project - Phase 2
Restoration work has been completed on the former signalbox and redundant 'down' platform at Brading station. Phase One of the project was completed in March 2006, with the restoration of the main station building using funding from Leader+, South East Development Agency and Railway Heritage Trust. The building has been home to the Visitor Centre, shop and Railway Heritage Exhibition since its re-opening. Phase two completed in January 2010 and saw the restoration of the buildings on the eastern platform and the signalbox to its former glory, landscaping work is continuing to take place in the area behind the eastern platform. A 'Friends of Brading Station' group now exists, volunteers are helping to support the project and all the good work that has been done at the station.
