Exeter Cathedral

Exeter Cathedral is one of Britain's most enchanting, medieval cathedrals. It is a fine example of gothic architecture with the longest, unbroken stretch of Gothic vaulting in the world. The two towers are very symbolic as they are the oldest part of the existing building, dating back to the Normans.

Exeter Underground Passages

Exeter Underground Passages is the only attraction of its type open in Britain so it is definitely worth a visit. It dates back to the 14th century where it was used to bring clean drinking water into Exeter. Now people are guided down some of these passages to explore the unusual monument.
The guided tour is fun packed with interactive exhibits and a video presentation at the Heritage Centre before heading into the underground passages. It is a very unique experience and has won numerous awards.

Nightlife in Exeter

Exeter has a varied nightlife, from quiet pubs to lively nightclubs; there is plenty of entertainment. Exeter is host to three cinemas, two theatres and an arena. Exeter’s Westpoint is an entertainment venue which has seen the likes of Oasis and The Corrs perform on its stage. The Westpoint also hold various other events throughout the year, such as, exhibitions and fairs.
Pub and Club goers tend to venture to central Exeter so head there if you are after a lively night. However if you want a more serene atmosphere the less central pubs are your best option.

Exmouth

Whilst visiting Exeter, why not catch the number 57 Stagecoach bus from Exeter Bus Station to Exmouth? Exmouth is a seaside resort just outside Exeter. The journey will take approximately 30-35 minutes by Stagecoach bus. The vast amounts of sandy beaches are well worth visiting and the view out across the Exe is beautiful. Whether you fancy lazing on the beach with an ice cream or looking at Exmouth market, there is plenty to make your visit a memorable experience.
