GroupSave

You can save up to 50% when you travel as a small group with our GroupSave discount. Why not use GroupSave for a day out and save even more money with our days out offers to lots of great attractions?

GroupSave is available for 3 or 4 people travelling together on Off Peak and Super Off Peak tickets whether it’s a Day Return or you’re staying away for a few nights with a period Return.

If you’re travelling into London for a day trip, you can also include a Day Travelcard with your GroupSave ticket. You can even add up to 4 accompanying children for just £1.00 each!

If your total group size (including children) is 3 or 4, your cheapest option is to count a child as an adult to get the largest overall discount for the group. Once the group reaches 4 people, any additional children can travel for £1.00 each.

How do I buy GroupSave tickets?

Save time and buy your GroupSave tickets online and collect them from one of our self-service ticket machines just 2 hours after you book them.

Before you buy online, have a look at our 'See how the GroupSave discount works' section (above) to see how you can make the most of the GroupSave discount.

When you buy online:

  1. Enter your journey details and the number of people travelling.
  2. Scroll down to 'Railcards and other discounts' section and select 'GROUPSAVE 3' or 'GROUPSAVE 4' to ensure you get the correct discount for your group. Remember to include any accompanying children as they travel for just £1 each.

You can also buy tickets through our Customer Service Centre, on 0845 6000 650, who can also arrange for you to collect your tickets from one of our self-service ticket machines.

Alternatively, you can buy your tickets at any staffed ticket office. You cannot buy GroupSave discounted tickets from a self-service ticket machine unless you are collecting pre-purchased tickets.

GroupSave Conditions
  1. A minimum of one adult must travel with each GroupSave ticket.
  2. All members of the group must travel together for the outward and return journeys.
  3. No further discounts are available to Railcard holders.
  4. GroupSave tickets are only valid at certain times of day and we advise you to check your journey using our journey planner.
  5. GroupSave is available for journeys involving c2c, Chiltern Railways, East Midlands Trains, First Capital Connect, First Great Western, National Express East Anglia (not Stansted Express), London Midland, London Overground, Southeastern and Southern.
  6. GroupSave may not be available for certain journeys or on certain dates and you should check the National Rail website for GroupSave restricted dates.

Group Travel

If there are 10 or more people travelling together, you can save 26% with a Group Travel ticket when you travel on Off Peak or Super Off Peak tickets. With Group Travel, child fares are extended to include 16 and 17 year olds, so you can save even more on your journey.

If you’re travelling into London, we can also include unlimited travel on London Underground and the Docklands Light Railway with a Group Day Travelcard.

We will always offer your group the cheapest fares for your journey and you maybe quoted GroupSave tickets if this offers a larger saving.

If you would like a quote on your Group Travel booking, please contact our Group Travel team.

Group Travel Conditions
  1. Group Travel should be booked and paid for at least 7 working days before you travel. For groups over 100, please give 4 weeks notice.
  2. We will try to accommodate the whole group on one train but may ask you to split your group over 2 (or more trains) if you have a large group or you are travelling at busy times.
  3. One ticket will be issued for the whole group and you must all travel together.
  4. A Group Day Travelcard will be issued for each person travelling as they are needed to operate the ticket gates on London Underground.
