High level of satisfaction amongst South West Trains passengers according to national transport watchdog
There is a high level of satisfaction amongst South West Trains passengers, according to an independent passenger survey released today by national transport watchdog, Passenger Focus.
The survey, which covers Spring 2009, shows South West Trains overall passenger satisfaction at 84%, above the 80% average score for London and South East operators.
In addition, the survey also highlights some marked improvements in satisfaction with train facilities:
- 90% of passengers said they were happy with the punctuality/reliability of South West Trains’ services, an increase of 6% from Spring 2008
- Passengers were pleased with the frequency of services, with 81% voting favourably marking a 4% increase from Spring 2008
- Connections and speed of journeys also scored highly, with 78% of passengers satisfied with their train connections (an 8% increase from Spring 2008) and 86% of passengers satisfied with the speed of their train journey (a 5% increase from Spring 2008).
Commenting on the results, Ian Johnston, Customer Service Director for South West Trains said:
“We know the main priority for our passengers is to have reliable, frequent and fast train services, and today’s results clearly show that our passengers are satisfied with the improvements we have made in this area.”
“The challenge now will be to continue maintaining a high focus on the delivery of our train services whilst striving for improvements in other areas to ensure that satisfaction amongst our passengers continues to grow.”
