IOW Community Rail Partnership
The Isle of Wight Community Rail Partnership (CRP) was launched in 2005 with formal designation granted from the DfT in March 2006.
The partnership’s original stakeholders were Island Line Trains, Isle of Wight Council and Wightlink. Following the successful delivery of projects and partnership working, the CRP have expanded its executive membership to include Isle of Wight Steam Railway, Southern Vectis, Hovertravel and Red Funnel. The Island's transport provideers now have a great way to work together for seamless travel and sustainable transport across the Isle of Wight.
In September 2008, the hard work of the IOW CRP was rewarded at the annual Association of Community Rail Partnerships (ACoRP) awards ceremony. The IOW CRP won two first places for an artwork project at Sandown station and for 'Project TravelSafe' that promotes safe and responsible use of public transport across the Isle of Wight.
The IOW Partnership is led by Bobby Lock who is the CRP's Rail Development Officer, Bobby can be contacted via the CRP website.
