Island Line Reopens

A ten week programme to repair storm damage at Sandown has finished with the network reopening ahead of schedule.

Island Line Manager and Head of Customer Experience Andy Naylor said, “We want to say a big Thank You to our passengers, local residents and businesses who have all been so patient over the last couple of months. We know that the work has had an impact on a lot of people, but now that it has been completed and the embankment strengthened against future bad weather, we’re delighted to re-open the network and provide the service that our customers have grown to know and love.

As a result of positive feedback from passengers, we have made an adjustment to our regular timetable. From Friday 20 March the last services from Shanklin and Ryde Pier Head will be retimed to run later. These times will provide better connections to the late Wightlink Catamarans. Please check our final update below for details.
