Managers employed at South West Trains fall into two broad categories: people managers and technical managers.
People managers
People managers may require particular areas of expertise but primarily are responsible for managing employees, building efficient and enthusiastic teams to achieve business outcomes and ensuring each individual’s personal growth and development. Working as a people manager, you will be focused to achieve business success through people.
Technical managers
Technical managers are experts in fields such as Engineering, Customer Service, Finance and IT, Human Resources, Operations and Safety. Technical managers have in-depth specialist knowledge within their field and are skilled at analysis and problem solving.
All managers strive to demonstrate the South West Trains managerial competencies, which include analytical, business awareness, planning and organising, leadership, working with people, safety, quality and environmental awareness, communication and personal motivation & confidence.
