South West Trains wins top station honour at National Rail Awards
South West Trains was celebrating last night (17 September) after Brockenhurst Station won a top award at the 2009 National Rail Awards.
The Hampshire Station was named Best Medium Sized Station in the Station of the Year category at the awards after beating off competition from a number of other stations from across the country.
After visiting Brockenhurst station, the judges were impressed by the standard of customer service, station presentation, initiative and innovation they observed, all of which ensure that the station provides a smooth, efficient and pleasant departure and arrival point for the travelling customer.
South West Trains, Managing Director Stewart Palmer said: “We are absolutely delighted with this award and it reflects tremendous credit on the team at Brockenhurst. This award recognises the high standard of service customers experience at the station and shows the consistent attention to detail that our station staff provide.”
The 10th annual National Rail Awards took place London’s Grosvenor House Hotel, recognising excellence and achievement within the rail industry.
