South West Trains passengers continue to benefit from improved punctuality 

• Latest figures show 95.4% of services meeting punctuality standard
• South West Trains remains one of the UK’s most punctual train operators

South West Trains, part of the Stagecoach Group, remains one of Britain’s most punctual train operators, according to the latest official performance data released today by Network Rail.
During the four-week period ending 16th October, trains operated by South West Trains recorded a punctuality figure of 95.4%.  The latest figures mark a further improvement on South West Trains’ moving annual average of 93.2%, and are well above the national average of 92.8% for this period.
South West Trains has consistently delivered good levels of train service performance, and these latest figures show that its customers are benefiting from robust punctuality on the routes operated by Britain’s largest and most complex network.
Commenting on the result, South West Trains’ Managing Director, Andy Pitt said: “Last month, over 95% of our trains arrived at their destinations on time. This is a testament to the hard work put in by all our staff and to the joint working with Network Rail”.
Punctuality figures were measured from 19th September to 16th October 2010.
