Train Shunters
Train shunters control the movement of rolling stock within the confines of our depots in this very responsible role. It takes someone with great organisational ability and self-discipline to be successful in this position.
Our shunters are responsible for conducting safety checks and undertaking minor maintenance tasks on units, ensuring any defects found are reported. They operate hand points to set the routes for shunt movements, control and dispatch trains from the sidings into service and couple/uncouple units ensuring they are in the correct formation. Shunters work a 24/7 shift pattern.
