Stonehenge Tour

Go by train and discover Stonehenge's mysterious stones

For an unforgettable day out, visit the World Heritage Site of Stonehenge.  Located near Salisbury in the beautiful Wiltshire countryside, it is a highlight of the South West.

The true meaning of this ancient, awe-inspiring creation has been lost in the mists of time. Was Stonehenge a temple for sun worship, a healing centre, a burial site or perhaps a huge calendar? How did our ancestors manage to carry the mighty stones from so far away and then, using only the most primitive of tools, build this amazing structure? Surrounded by mystery, Stonehenge never fails to impress.

Join the Stonehenge Tour at Salisbury station which takes you past the huge earthworks of Old Sarum, an Iron Age hill fort inhabited by Romans, Saxons and Normans. The tour then takes you to Stonehenge where you can learn more about the stones and why they might be there with a fascinating audio guide.

Your ticket allows you to hop-on and hop-off the tour bus and includes your entry to Stonehenge.

Find out about other prehistoric monuments near Stonehenge on the World Heritage in the South West website.
