Transport links & Rail Rovers

Find out more about the various links from our stations to non-rail destinations. For most links, you can include the cost of the bus or ferry in your rail ticket.

PlusBus

PLUSBUS is a cheap travelcard that you buy with your train ticket at any station ticket office, self-service ticket vending machine or online. It gives you unlimited bus and tram travel (on participating operators' services) to and from the rail station and around the whole urban area of the rail served town. Buy one for the start of your journey and/or for the end of it.

PLUSBUS is available for 290 rail-served towns and cities across Britain.

For each town there is one travel zone that covers the whole urban area. With a PLUSBUS ticket you can travel as much as you like by bus within this urban travel zone.

PLUSBUS can be added to most types of train ticket:

  • Single
  • Day return
  • Period return
  • Season ticket (for set periods, to match the most popular train season ticket: 7 days, 1 month, 3 months, a year)

PLUSBUS ticket prices start from £2 a day. Save one third off the price of PLUSBUS day tickets with most types of national Railcard. Children (aged 5-15) pay half the adult PLUSBUS day ticket price.

For more information?

To check PLUSBUS ticket prices, to view zone maps showing where you can travel in each town, and details of participatinf bus operators, visit the PLUSBUS website.

For details of bus routes and times, visit www.traveline.info or call 'Traveline' 0871 200 22 33 (calls from UK landlines cost 10p a minute).
