New Year's Eve is fast approaching, but there's still plenty out there to do, with venues all over our network hosting some seriously posh soirées to ring in 2019. So, if you're looking to get glammed up for a gala dinner, or just for something more casual, there's plenty to do on our network.

On the evening

You could head to Southampton and the Harbour Hotel for a choice of two parties - a black tie ball in The Bow restaurant or a latin-style party at HarBAR on 6th.

Or try The Heights Hotel on the Isle of Portland, with a Gala Dinner followed by 'Ratpack' classics, Swing and Soul and disco sounds to welcome in the New Year.

Weymouth also hosts more than 20,000 revellers in Britain's biggest New Year's Eve Fancy Dress Party - celebrate until the early hours with live music inside and out.

For something a little different, why not take in a first-class evening with the Emirates Spinnaker Tower? With an Orient Express theme, breath-taking views and DJ entertainment, it's set to be a great way to let off some steam.

Of course, it wouldn't be a celebration if there was nothing for little ones to do. LEGOLAND Windsor offer a kid-friendly New Year's Eve, with an early firework display so they can enjoy the celebrations but still have a sensible bedtime! There's an overnight stay included, so there's plenty to do the next day as well.

Of course, there's always things to do during the day. Why not visit a panto or head out ice skating and celebrate the New Year early?

The next day

The morning after can always be a bit of a struggle if you've taken your celebrations a bit too seriously! But if you've attended the Black Tie Ball at the Southampton Harbour Hotel, you could always take advantage of a day in the Spa to refresh you.

But of course, it doesn't have to be expensive. There're some stunning walks on our network to partake in that don't cost a penny, and the brisk winter air will definitely put a spring in your step.

Lots of museums open on New Year's Day too, and with lots of people sleeping off a night's excess, you can take advantage of a quiet day to be a bit of a culture vulture. Head down to the Mary Rose Museum, a short walk from Portsmouth Harbour station, for a view into an incredible piece of Britain's naval history. Or head to Fort Nelson on Portsdown Hill, and its daily 1pm gun firing at this fully restored Victorian fort.

Like your history a little…quieter? Try the Aspex Gallery, near Gunwharf Quays (and easy access for a quick look at the January sales on your way home!). Of course, there's always the big London galleries and museums too - the Tate Modern, a short walk from London Waterloo, is open on New Year's Day, with free daily tours. The Natural History, Science, and V&A Museums are all open too.

And seeing as you're in London, why not take in the parade? One of the biggest New Year's Day events in the country, this American-style extravaganza snakes over 2 miles past some of London's biggest attractions. Get there early for the best vantage point!
