For a mix of history and heritage, stunning coastline and beautiful countryside views then Christchurch is the place for you. With fantastic local pubs and restaurants providing you with delicious local produce after your busy day exploring the area, what more could you want?

Fast fact: In 1975 Christchurch was twinned with Christchurch in New Zealand.

    Hit the shops

Christchurch is an ancient Saxon sea town and combines old world charms with a quiet seaside resort. There is a mosaic of little shops and ancient buildings among the original Saxon street layout, not forgetting the picturesque walks for you to enjoy.

    See The Priory

The Priory is a medieval monastic church dating back to the 11th century, making it the longest serving parish church in England. Its beautiful architecture both outside and inside makes this something to admire; especially its Norman nave and turret.

    Visit the heritage wonders

There are many heritage wonders to see here, including a medieval bridge, a Saxon mill and two castles. One castle is an 11th century Norman castle, and the other is quite possibly the most romantic, and the only surviving one of its kind in the country - Highcliffe Castle.

    Get back to nature

Nature lovers will love to discover the areas surrounding Christchurch, with beautiful countryside, rivers and seaside, enabling you to go birdwatching, angling and walking.
